Corrections Policy

How UAE CUE Sports handles factual corrections, clarifications and updates to published sports coverage, results, rankings and reviews.

Updated

UAE CUE Sports aims to publish accurate information and to correct material factual errors when they are identified.

Sports information can change quickly, and reporting may involve evolving events, rankings, schedules, results, statements and competition decisions. This policy explains how we distinguish corrections, clarifications and updates and how readers can raise concerns about published information.

We do not promise that every article will always be free from error. Accountability means responding appropriately when credible evidence shows that published information is wrong, incomplete or materially outdated.

What Is a Correction?

A correction is appropriate when a factual statement in a published article is materially incorrect.

Examples may include:

  • an incorrect score;
  • an incorrect date;
  • a misspelled or misidentified person where the error is material;
  • an incorrect ranking position;
  • an inaccurate competition detail;
  • an incorrect quotation;
  • a materially wrong venue or organizational fact.

What Is a Clarification?

A clarification may be appropriate when the original information was not necessarily false but lacked context or could reasonably be misunderstood.

A clarification may add information that makes the original meaning more precise without necessarily changing the central factual conclusion.

What Is an Update?

An update is used when relevant new information becomes available after publication.

Examples may include:

  • a revised tournament draw;
  • a new ranking;
  • a schedule change;
  • a new official statement;
  • a confirmed result;
  • a venue changing its services or availability;
  • a later development in an ongoing story.

An update does not necessarily mean the original article was incorrect when published.

Minor Edits

Minor edits that do not materially alter the meaning of an article may be made without a separate correction note.

These may include:

  • spelling corrections;
  • punctuation;
  • grammar;
  • formatting;
  • minor style improvements;
  • broken-link replacement;
  • small wording changes that do not change the factual substance.

Correction Notes

When a correction materially changes information readers relied upon, UAE CUE Sports may include a correction or editorial note explaining the significant change.

The level of detail should be proportionate to the significance of the original error.

Minor typographical changes do not normally require a public correction note.

How to Report an Error

Suspected factual errors should be sent to:

corrections@uaecuesports.com

Please include:

  • the URL of the relevant article;
  • the specific statement or data point you believe is incorrect;
  • a short explanation of the issue;
  • a reliable supporting source or evidence where available;
  • your contact details if follow-up may be needed.

How Correction Requests Are Reviewed

A correction request is evaluated against available evidence rather than accepted automatically.

Review may include:

  • checking the original source material;
  • reviewing official records;
  • checking governing-body or competition information;
  • reviewing interview notes or direct statements;
  • checking data or documentation supplied by the person raising the concern;
  • seeking additional confirmation where appropriate.

A disagreement with an editorial interpretation does not necessarily establish a factual error.

Corrections to Scores, Results and Rankings

Sports results and rankings can be particularly time-sensitive.

When an official result, ranking or standing is found to have been reported incorrectly, UAE CUE Sports may correct the article after checking the relevant official or authoritative source.

If a governing body later changes an official ranking or result, that may be treated as an update rather than an error in the original publication.

Corrections to Reviews and Rankings

A factual correction within a review or editorial ranking may require reconsideration of the editorial conclusion if the corrected information materially changes the basis of the assessment.

However, disagreement with a subjective editorial assessment is not automatically a factual correction.

Requests From People or Organizations Covered

Athletes, clubs, federations, venues, companies, advertisers and other organizations may report factual concerns in the same way as any reader.

Commercial status does not provide additional authority over the corrections process.

Accurate reporting is not normally removed or rewritten solely because it is unfavorable to the person or organization concerned.

Requests to Remove Accurate Coverage

UAE CUE Sports distinguishes between correcting inaccurate information and removing accurate but unfavorable information.

A request to remove an article does not establish that the article is incorrect.

Where new evidence changes the factual basis of a story, that evidence may be reviewed and the article may be corrected, clarified or updated where appropriate.

New Information After Publication

A later development does not automatically make earlier reporting wrong.

For example, a competition may change its schedule after an article was accurately published, or a governing body may issue a revised ranking.

In such cases, UAE CUE Sports may update the article to preserve usefulness for readers.

Anonymous Sources and Corrections

Confidential sourcing does not remove our responsibility to correct factual errors.

If information attributed to an unnamed source is later shown to be materially incorrect, the article may be corrected without publicly identifying a legitimately confidential source.

Advertising and Commercial Independence

Advertisers and commercial partners do not control corrections.

A material factual error should be corrected regardless of whether doing so is favorable or unfavorable to an advertiser, partner, athlete, organization or UAE CUE Sports itself.

Likewise, accurate editorial material should not be changed merely because a commercial party requests a more favorable presentation.

Corrections and AI-Generated Material

AI-assisted tools are used only for images and other visual materials.

If a synthetic illustration is presented in a way that materially misleads readers about a real event, person, venue or incident, the image or its presentation may be corrected or replaced.

Reader Accountability

Readers are encouraged to provide specific evidence when raising factual concerns.

A correction request supported by an official record, primary source or other reliable documentation can generally be evaluated more effectively than a general statement that an article is "wrong."
