This policy explains the standards that would apply if UAE CUE Sports introduces sponsored articles, partner content, native advertising or similar paid publishing formats in the future.
The purpose of these standards is to ensure that readers can distinguish commercial material from independent editorial coverage and understand when a third party has paid for visibility or involvement in a piece of content.
What We Mean by Sponsored Content
Sponsored content is material created, commissioned, funded or commercially supported by an advertiser, brand, organization or other third party in exchange for payment or another material commercial benefit.
Depending on the format, sponsored content may include:

- commercial guides;
- paid brand features;
- other clearly disclosed paid editorial-style formats.
UAE CUE Sports does not currently operate these formats as a regular commercial product.
Clear Labeling
If sponsored content is introduced, readers should be able to identify its commercial nature without needing to infer the relationship.
Appropriate labels may include:
- Sponsored;
- Sponsored Content;
- Partner Content;
- Paid Partnership;
- another similarly clear disclosure appropriate to the format.
Commercial material should not be presented as independent editorial reporting when it was paid for or materially influenced by a commercial relationship.
Editorial Independence
Sponsored relationships do not provide control over unrelated independent UAE CUE Sports editorial coverage.
A sponsor cannot purchase:
- positive independent news coverage;
- a favorable editorial review;
- a guaranteed recommendation;
- removal of legitimate criticism;
- control over unrelated editorial decisions;
- a preferred position in an independent editorial ranking.
Paid visibility does not determine editorial ranking position.
Sponsored Content vs. Independent Coverage
A company or organization may appear in sponsored content and also be covered independently elsewhere on UAE CUE Sports.
The existence of a commercial relationship does not require independent editorial coverage to be favorable.
Similarly, an organization does not need to become an advertiser or sponsor in order to submit legitimate news information for editorial consideration.
Potentially Acceptable Sponsored Topics
If sponsored content is introduced in the future, potentially suitable topics may include:
- sports equipment and sporting goods;
- cue-sports products and accessories;
- sportswear;
- venues and sports facilities;
- academies and coaching services;
- sporting events;
- ticketing and event services;
- sports technology;
- software and digital services relevant to sport;
- travel and sports tourism;
- hospitality connected to sporting activity;
- consumer technology relevant to the audience;
- sports research and data;
- professional services relevant to the sports industry.
Inclusion in this list does not guarantee acceptance. Individual proposals may still be declined based on claims, presentation, relevance or editorial standards.
Topics We May Reject
UAE CUE Sports may reject sponsored or commercial material involving:
- illegal or fraudulent activity;
- materially misleading claims;
- fake reviews or testimonials;
- adult or pornographic content;
- recreational drugs;
- tobacco and nicotine products;
- weapons;
- extremist or hateful material;
- counterfeit products;
- malware, spyware or deceptive software;
- unlicensed or unlawful gambling;
- deceptive financial schemes;
- unsupported medical, legal or financial claims;
- political advertising;
- misleading high-risk crypto or investment promotions;
- impersonation or deceptive identity claims;
- content designed primarily to mislead or manipulate readers.
Accuracy Standards Still Apply
Payment does not make unsupported factual claims acceptable.
Sponsored material should not contain fabricated statistics, fake testimonials, invented endorsements, misleading comparisons or factual claims that cannot reasonably be supported.
Claims about products, services, performance or outcomes may require supporting information before publication.
Reviews and Recommendations
A commercial partner cannot purchase an independent positive review or recommendation.
If a future commercial article discusses a sponsor's product or service, the commercial relationship should be clear to readers.
Such material should not be presented as though it were an independent editorial review when it is sponsored.
Rankings
UAE CUE Sports may publish official sporting rankings and independent editorial rankings.
Commercial relationships do not provide an organization with the right to purchase a position in an independent editorial ranking.
Press Releases
A press release is not automatically sponsored content and is not automatically independent editorial coverage.
Organizations may submit legitimate announcements to the editorial team without payment.
Press releases may be used as source material, but submission does not guarantee publication.
If supplied material is published substantially in its original form, its source should be made clear where appropriate.
Affiliate Relationships
UAE CUE Sports does not currently operate a regular affiliate-link program.
If affiliate relationships are introduced in the future, relevant commercial relationships should be disclosed where appropriate and should not determine independent editorial conclusions.
No Guaranteed Results
Sponsored or commercial arrangements do not guarantee business outcomes, audience reach, search visibility, independent editorial coverage or positive reviews.

Corrections to Sponsored Material
Commercial material may still be corrected if it contains a material factual error.
A sponsor should not be able to prevent a legitimate correction simply because the material was paid for.
