The defending champion returns to Yas Links from 5 to 8 November. The event opens the DP World Tour's season-ending qualifiers, with 70 players chasing 50 places in the Dubai finale.

Rai's previous Abu Dhabi win came in a play-off against fellow Englishman Tommy Fleetwood.

Rai returns after a landmark season

That victory made him the defending champion at the Abu Dhabi Aldar Golf Championship. He went on to win his first major at the PGA Championship, becoming the first English player in 107 years to lift the Wanamaker Trophy.

The available search results did not include official DP World Tour data confirming the tournament field, results, allocation of the 50 finale places or Rai's title-defence status.

From 5 to 8 November, Rai will return to Yas Links for the event that opens the closing Race to Dubai qualifiers.

Seventy players compete for 50 places

The field will comprise the leading 70 players in the Race to Dubai standings. They will compete for 50 places in the season-ending championship in Dubai. At Yas Links, those standings determine who advances to the finale.

The PGA Tour materials found in the search concern qualifications for its own 2027 tournaments. They confirm a separate PGA Tour qualification system, but do not establish Race to Dubai rules or results.

The Race to Dubai has also featured in recent tour coverage. At the Abu Dhabi event, the qualification stakes are direct: the top 70 enter, and 50 secure places in the finale.

A second prize on Rai's record

Rai also won the Rory McIlroy Award. It goes to the DP World Tour player who accumulated the most points across the four major championships in the Race to Dubai standings.
