Zidan Nageh, Mohamed El-Sayed, Yassin Mohamed, Mohab Wael, Omar Abu Ghazala, Abdel Rahman Rami "Mano" and Ahmed El-Sheikh have joined Al Ahly's first-team training during the international break.
Several senior players are away with their national teams. The coaching staff will use the seven academy players to cover those absences in training.
AfricaSoccer reported on 27 September that four Al Ahly players were called up to Egypt's U-23/Olympic-team camp, held from 27 to 30 September at the National Teams Center in 6th of October City.
Friendlies offer a chance to assess players
Al Ahly played a friendly against Libya's Al-Ittihad Misrata as part of its break programme. The club's official website said on 23 September that the match was scheduled for 28 September. It also listed a second friendly against Misr Lel Maqassah on 2 October.
Ahram Gate reported different dates: 30 September and 3 October. The club's official schedule confirms the dates as 28 September and 2 October.

After a four-day rest during the international window, the team returned to training at Mokhtar El Tetsh Stadium. The club said the sessions were meant to restore physical and technical readiness before competitive action resumes. Al Ahly's official website described the friendlies as part of preparations for the next phase of the season.
Football director Wael Gomaa said the friendlies were intended to give players minutes and help the staff assess their readiness ahead of the restart.
The youth players help keep training numbers up during the break. The friendly also gives the staff another chance to assess the squad.
For the seven academy players, the sessions offer a chance to work with the senior team. No authoritative source has confirmed a permanent first-team promotion beyond their involvement in training.
