The agreement signed last year did not require the UAE Pro League to take part in a second edition. Egyptian media now report that the league will not help organise or host the next Egyptian Super Cup. No public statement confirming a refusal has been identified.
The Egyptian Football Association is looking for another partner. The provisional 1-8 November window and proposed four-team lineup still need final approval.
The plan is back in negotiation.
The UAE has regularly hosted the Egyptian Super Cup. Al Mashhad reported that at least nine editions had been played in the Emirates by 2025.
A second edition was not guaranteed
The UAE Pro League helped organise the previous edition. But the agreement signed last year made a second year optional. Both parties had to agree to continue working together.
That was not guaranteed.
Replacement talks will shape the final plan
Reports say talks are under way with several UAE organisations and other parties in the Gulf. Elaosboa reported on 21 and 22 September that the Egyptian Football Association had not approved a host country. It also said there was no official agreement with the UAE, so the decision remained open.
Emarat Al Youm reported, citing a source in the Egyptian Football Association, that the tournament was being planned for Abu Dhabi in the first week of November in a four-team format. That report said the fourth participant had not yet been determined.
The proposed lineup includes الزمالك, بيراميدز, المصري and الأهلي. Reports have differed on whether all four places are settled. Al Mashhad described Zamalek, Pyramids and Al Masry as confirmed. Emarat Al Youm said the fourth place was still undecided.
A separate deal involving Zamalek brought the club into the news in the UAE. Shabab Al Ahli's Bezerra deal concerned a transfer, not the Super Cup. The tournament's host, venue and final dates have not been settled.
The next step is to find a replacement partner. Nothing is settled yet. Until talks end, 1-8 November remains provisional. The Egyptian Football Association must close the organisational gap before the four clubs can get a confirmed schedule and location.
