Amr Jamal Mohammed and Mohammed Fadi Al Zubaidi, both from Sharjah Equestrian Club, split first place. They shared the prize to conserve their horses' effort.

Sharjah riders lead the opening classes
Al Zubaidi rode eight-year-old FZ Boy. Mohammed finished the main round in 77.34 seconds. Jamal and 14-year-old Zazo Z completed it in 77.09 seconds. Sharjah riders took the first 15 places in the class.
The opening weekend had 10 competitions across 21 main and subsidiary categories. Sharjah's Shadi Gharib won the 1.35m two-phase class. Laith Gharib took the 1.30m youth competition with Favorite de Grandry, then won the same-height youth class on Edison de Lavor.
Sharjah had a strong start.
A packed season schedule begins
Sharjah Equestrian Club is set to host four weekly competitions during this edition. The season began on 26 and 27 September and ends on 4 April 2027. The UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation's 2026-2027 show-jumping calendar lists the Sharjah meeting on 26-27 September as "Closed." That confirms the meeting is part of the approved season schedule.
The international programme includes the three-star and one-star Kalba event from 19 to 22 November. The four-star Sharjah Nations Cup, Sharjah's 27th international championship and the five-star Sharjah Ruler's Cup are scheduled for 18 to 21 February. The Ruler's Cup will include the final qualifying rounds for the show jumping World Cup. The UAE hosts four qualifying rounds.
The UAEERF calendar places the Sharjah meeting within a wider 2026-2027 national show-jumping schedule. The calendar does not include athlete or organizer comments or results, and no independent Reuters, AP or Bloomberg report of the opening meeting was found in the sources reviewed; those records therefore do not independently verify the shared-victory and prize-sharing details.
Other opening-weekend winners included Miftah Jawhar Al Dhaheri of Abu Dhabi Police, who topped an open 1.30m class. Jamal won the 1.30m jump-off class with Caranda-S. At 1.20m, Aref Ahmed Al Ahli won with six-year-old Doschka. Junior winners Ali Ahmed Arafat and Noura Abdulrahman Al Shamsi both represented Sharjah.
The UAE's wider equestrian calendar also includes international racing. The President's Cup finale in Poland is scheduled as a Group 3 turf event. Sharjah's opening weekend focused on domestic show jumping.
Sharjah riders took the first 15 places in the headline class and won across several heights and age groups. The league runs through April, with international fixtures ahead. Sharjah has set an early competitive benchmark.
