Representation and responsibilities
Chairman Mohammed Mohammed Fadel Al Hameli said board members with disabilities could draw on their experience when setting plans and making decisions about the sport's development. He urged the board and its specialist committees to coordinate their work and use the group's expertise.
The UAE returned from the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games with 13 medals, including a record seven golds, The National reported. That result belongs to the Asian Games, not the Asian Para Games.
Asian Games preparations
The 2026 Asian Para Games is the main competition named in the committee's forward plans. Al Hameli said clear plans were needed to improve national-team readiness and turn support for the sport into strong performances at regional and international events. Revsportz placed preparations for the tournament in the wider context of the long-term development of the UAE's national sports federations and teams.
Al Muhairi said preparations for the next Asian Para Games were complete. Technical arrangements were in place to help the participating line-up show its competitive level. He said the delegation would approach the continental event with high ambitions.
A separate UAE Special Olympics delegation is preparing for the MENA Regional Games. It is a distinct programme within the country's regional disability-sport activity.
The new board has given people of determination a substantial role and named a clear competitive priority. Its success will depend on whether that representation shapes practical decisions and helps prepare the national team for the 2026 Asian Para Games.
