Al Wasl announced the agreement on Sunday, a day before its scheduled home match against Al Ahli Saudi.
On 11 October 2026, Al Wasl were preparing to host Al Ahli Saudi the following day at Zabeel Stadium in Dubai.
A shirt placement tied to community support
Fardan Al Fardan, chairman of Al Wasl Investment Company, said the club sees its role as extending beyond competition. He described football as a platform for sharing charitable values with a wider audience. The partnership is intended to use the club's popularity to support humanitarian initiatives and introduce more people to Noor Dubai's work.
Sports partnerships can also target participation. The UAE Chess Federation's agreement with Palms Sports aimed to grow chess in schools and communities.
The foundation's reported reach
Al Wasl began the 2026/27 campaign with a defeat and, after its opening group-stage match, stood 12th with one game played, no wins or draws, one loss, a 1:2 goal difference and zero points, according to Goal.com's table. The AFC reported that defending champion Al Ahli Saudi had drawn its opener, so both sides were seeking their first tournament win ahead of their 12 October meeting.
The foundation says its work includes treatment and the development of healthcare services. It equips and rehabilitates service centres, and trains medical personnel alongside health and education personnel. Its stated aim is to improve the quality of health services and access to them.
For Al Wasl, the agreement puts a humanitarian cause on the team's continental shirt. It applies to AFC Champions League Elite matches, rather than serving as a general title sponsorship of the club. Sportcal reports that Visa is the global commercial partner for the AFC's 2026-2029 club-competition cycle, a separate role from Noor Dubai's local partnership with Al Wasl.
