Moraes says Caio Lucas could resume training in about two months, but will not play before December. Sharjah drew with Al Jazira after missing a penalty.

The third-round ADIB Cup match took place at Sharjah Stadium on October 9, 2026. eScore recorded a 0-0 score at halftime.

Coach Moraes said Sharjah deserved all three points. His side created several chances, but missed a penalty and finished without a goal.

Al Jazira entered the third round after beating Khor Fakkan 2-0 in the previous round on October 2, 2026.

Moraes also said the team's play had improved. Several players had recently returned from national-team duty. Harib and Khalid featured; Luan and Camara were unavailable.

Caio's absence shapes the immediate picture

Moraes hopes to see Caio back in the squad soon, but set December as the earliest date for his return to action. He expects the winger could resume training in about two months. That estimate does not mean Caio will be ready to play then.

In another third-round fixture, Al Ain drew 2-2 with Kalba. Sharjah24 reported that the result gave Al Ain its first point in the tournament and took Kalba to four points.

Moraes praised new arrival Yahya Al Ghassani's performance and wished Al Jazira well in its Asian competition. Dubai's home campaign has offered a separate UAE sports storyline.

No independently confirmed diagnosis or rehabilitation protocol is available. Sharjah has not announced an official return date.
