Adrian Meronk closed with a 68 for a 20-under-par total at St Andrews. His wait ended. The 33-year-old Pole climbed to 38th in the standings with 1,086 points, putting him inside the top 70 who qualify for the season-ending events. The DP World Tour confirmed it was his fifth title on the circuit and his first in almost three years.
Meronk became the first Polish winner of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Two UAE finals now await
The Race to Dubai's final two tournaments are scheduled for the UAE in November. The Abu Dhabi Al Dar Championship will take place at Yas Links from 5-8 November. The DP World Tour Championship follows in Dubai from 12-15 November, where the season champion will be crowned. The dates are set.
Meronk's route to the finals runs through a win at one of golf's most historic courses. In the third round at Kingsbarns, he shot a 63 that included four opening birdies and a late eagle. He went into the final round tied at 16 under, according to BBC Sport.
A long-awaited return to winning form
Meronk said the victory felt like a dream and left him struggling to find words. He called the year difficult and said winning ten years into his professional career was a dream fulfilled. He also won the team competition with Tom Chaplin. The annual event pairs professional and amateur players.
The victory also secured Meronk full DP World Tour membership for the 2027 season. That status is particularly significant because he plays in LIV Golf and had no guaranteed Tour status for next season before the win.
Meronk has chosen to live in the UAE. He bought a home in Dubai Marina two years ago and has cited the country's range of golf clubs and courses as a way to maintain his level and readiness for international competition. His move is part of a wider conversation about athletes living in Dubai, also explored in this Dubai athlete profile.
The win earned Meronk $816,000 from the tournament's $4.8 million prize fund, according to Golf Digest. The payout was $816,000.
Jarvis strengthens his season position
Runner-up Jarvis gained two places to reach fourth in the Race to Dubai standings with 2,654 points. Three events remain in the "Back 9" series before the finals field is settled: the Madrid Open, the DP World India Championship and the Genesis Korean Championship. The full Race to Dubai season has 42 tournaments around the world, supported by DP World.
Meronk now has a fifth tour title and a place in the top 70. The Abu Dhabi and Dubai events will close the season, with the Pole among the qualifiers.
