Logistics and competition facilities
Organisers are arranging accommodation, transport and catering for visiting delegations. Sports halls are being fitted with internationally approved powerlifting equipment. The University of Sharjah and the UAE Sports Federation for School and Higher Education Institutions are coordinating technical and logistical requirements.

Building on university competition
The University of Sharjah is organising the championship with the UAE Sports Federation for School and Higher Education Institutions. The university has promoted powerlifting across the country's universities. It also hosted the first Asian University Powerlifting Cup, organised with the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation.
The University of Sharjah says hosting the championship is intended to strengthen its regional and international sporting profile and showcase the UAE's capacity to organise major sports events.
The UAE sports calendar also includes domestic events such as the Federation Cup fixture. The university championship will bring a different international field and set of organisational demands to Sharjah.
Preparations now focus on the venue and services for the 165-person delegation. The university will stage the championship under FISU.
