Al Madam won the eighth Sharjah Sports Council Archery Championship with 17 medals. A total of 90 competitors from eight clubs took part in recurve and compound events for age groups from under-10s to open.

At Al Madam Club on 3 and 4 October 2026, 90 archers from eight clubs competed in the eighth Sharjah Sports Council Archery Championship. Al Madam finished first with 17 medals, Sharjah24 reported.

The title reflected results across recurve and compound events, not just one age group. Khorfakkan took second in the club standings, followed by the Presidential Guard, Al Hamriyah, Mleiha, Al Bataeh, Sharjah and Dibba Al Hisn, Fana News / WAM reported.

The eighth Sharjah Sports Council Archery Championship took place on 3-4 October 2026 at Al Madam Club.

Al Madam leads the younger divisions

Al Madam took all three places in the under-18 men's Olympic recurve event. Khalifa Al Kaabi won, ahead of Mansoor Saeed and Abdul Wahab Reda. The club also finished first and third in under-18 compound: Nasser Saeed took the title, Munther Sadiq placed third, and Mohammed Omar of Al Bataeh came second.

In under-15 Olympic recurve, Hamad Al Ketbi, Hamdan Mohammed and Zayed Al Ketbi completed another Al Madam sweep. Hamad Al Ketbi and Hamdan Mohammed Al Kaabi won the recurve doubles for the club. Mleiha's Ghaith Al Dosari took under-15 compound, ahead of Mohammed Ahmed of Al Bataeh and Omar Tamer of Al Madam.

Al Madam's run continued in under-12 recurve, where Nasser Saeed, Obaid Saeed and Ahmed Idris claimed the first three places. Khorfakkan took the top two spots in under-10 recurve through Mohammed Ali and Zayed Mahmoud. Al Madam's Musab Bashir finished third.

Open honours extend the club spread

Andre of Al Hamriyah won the open men's Olympic recurve event. Al Madam's Sankar finished second, with Hassan Ibrahim of the Presidential Guard in third. In open compound, Saleh Youssef of the Presidential Guard took the title. Mohammed Saleh of Al Madam was runner-up, and Ali Hamouda of Al Bataeh placed third.

Representatives of the UAE Archery Federation, Sharjah Sports Council and Al Madam Club attended the closing ceremony and presented the awards. Sharjah's wider sports calendar has also included plans for a university powerlifting event.
